AL5 is applied like wallpaper,
covering all surfaces: floor, walls and ceiling. Other than normal
cleanliness, and dust free, no special preparation is required.
Typically the foil is sandwiched in between the 1st of Class A plywwood and 2nd layer of sheetrock.
Ideal for commercial construction architectural RF shielding. Foil glued in-place,
with recommended adhesive, is most common. Non-conductive preapplied Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA),
up to 24" wide is also available. For maximum effectiveness, seams should be taped with electrically conductive adhesive foil tape.
We recommend a minimum 2.0" overlap of the foil rolls and a minimum of 4' wide electrically conductive adhesive foil tape.
The RF shielding system is designed to be installed by local wall, floor and ceiling contractors.
| Chinese Proverb: Secrets will leak, if one uses
radiant vapor barrier instead of real RF shielding foil. The AL5 foil is 10,000 times better at RF shielding than, heavy duty radiant barrier sheet made up of a single layer of woven polyethylene material bonded to – and sandwiched between - two highly reflective aluminum surfaces. This means that the signal attenuation is 10,000 times greater with 80dB shielding compared to 40dB shielding

| Semi Rigid Aluminum Foil Panels for Shielding
We recommend AL20 being cut or shaped with electric or pneumatic metal nibbler

Ideal for covering waterproof sealed concrete floors
	  Final
flooring can be glued directly on top of the AL20

AL20 The panels are not self supporting. The foil panels may be screwed (self drilling screw recommended) (wall systems) or glued in-place (floor systems). For maximum effectiveness, seams
should be taped with
5 mil Aluminum (80dB) or 5 mil Copper (90dB) electrically conductive adhesive foil tape.
For floor installations we recommend butt jointing the panels and taping the seams with 4" wide electrically conductive aluminum or copper foil tape. 6" wide non-conductive adhesive foil tape can also be used, but not recommended.
For installation over an non-waterproof sealed or no moisture
barrier protected concrete floor, we recommend you switch to the
Xalon GS26 or GS22 (galvanized steel) panels. |

Is applied like any tape with a release. The tape is used to RF seal the
seams of foil or foil panels. The 4" wide, electrically conductive PSA is ideal for sealing the seams. The 6" wide, non-conductive PSA is used to frame out all the corners and intersections between walls, ceiling and floor, before the foil rolls are applied. The 1" wide electrically conductive tape is used to electrically bond all foil rolls, if they were applied with non-conductive PSA. |

| Concrete Warning |
| Since aluminum is subject to attack by alkaline(s) it should NOT be allowed to come in direct contact with concrete or mortar. If aluminum is in contact with concrete (or even other metals) and is subject to wetting (as would happen outdoors), the aluminum should be insulated from the concrete, mortar, or metal by adding a barrier like: asphalts, paint, sealer, 6 mil plastic polyurethane sheeting or a neoprene adhesive. Use waterproofing concrete sealer if you know water might get in, on or through the concrete. If the aluminum foil shielded room has fire sprinklers installed, it is good idea to water seal the concrete floor, just in case of an intentional or unintentional water discharge. |
