C-RAM SFC-HC is a series of high power broadband honeycomb RF
and microwave absorbers made from specially treated pyramidal honeycomb. Using a steep pyramid design, which provides an impedance gradient, C-RAM SFC-HC provides premium performance in anechoic chambers at both normal and off-normal incidence angles.
C-RAM SFC-HC absorbers, with no forced air, can handle up to 10 W/inČ of RF
energy with a phenolic coated honeycomb.

HONEYCOMB RADAR ABSORBER
C-RAM HC is a series of radar absorbing products made from Nomex/phenolic or glass/phenolic honeycomb with a proprietary lossy coating. Typically, Nomex/phenolic is used in most applications. The hexagonal open cell structure provides a high strength-to-weight ratio, making C-RAM HC an ideal material for aircraft parts, such as fairings, covers, and leading edges, which must combine strength, light weight, and low radar cross section. Honeycomb is also ideal for cavity backed spiral antenna applications. The open cells permit forced air cooling, allowing high-power applications. On special order skins can be provided on the core, typically glass, Kevlar, or AstroQuartz skins can be provided. Custom composite shapes are also available per customer drawings.

Power Hollow Pyramidal RF & Microwave Absorber

C-RAM HPA is a hollow pyramidal RF absorber designed to
provide high levels of absorption in high power applications. Typical
uses include the hot spots in test rooms or anechoic chambers where
heating due to concentrated power might damage conventional materials or
lead to danger of smoke and fire. Power densities of up to 2 W/in2 have
been handled successfully. C-RAM HPA is usually used with other
products such as C-RAM SFC or C-RAM EVA in an anechoic chamber
C-RAM HPA consists of lightweight, hollow pyramids. The pyramids are
formed by folding relatively thin sheets of lossy foam plastic into
shape and bonding them to a foam back panel. As an option, small vent
holes may be bored through the walls of the absorber, allowing forced
cooling air to be blown through the piece from behind.

RF ABSORBER FOR EMC CHAMBERS
The C-RAM SFC-EM product is similar to standard C-RAM SFC
pyramidal grades, but having the tips of the pyramids truncated. This saves
space in small chambers and provides a more rugged product, eliminating the
possibility of tip breakage.
C-RAM SFC-24 EM meets the requirements for MIL-STD
C-RAM SFC-36 EM and C-RAM SFC-24 EM, in an appropriate
combination in a chamber, are an ideal absorber treatment for Immunity Test
Chambers (EN 1000-4-3 and equivalent specifications).
